Recruited by a secret government agency, Winnie and Calvin find themselves in a story of legendary proportions. They team up as school reporters to cover a Bigfoot wedding, a Viking invasion, and a bizarre portal—all while preventing Weird War One from destroying their peaceful little town.
When it seems like things couldn’t get any weirder, Tim is captured, and our team faces their biggest adventure yet. Armed with nothing but the school camera and a chewed-up pencil, can two kids save the day?

MEET THE AUTHOR:
Joseph Blackwell writes middle-grade stories for kids who ask too many questions and adults who miss the thrill of adventure. Behind the beard, Blackwell is Jared Bignell, who lives with his wife and sons between Michigan and Ethiopia. As a kid, Blackwell spent long summers riding bikes through his sleepy rural town searching for adventure, but settling for gas station snacks. These days you can find him drinking coffee, teaching, or making tasty food. In a world that often feels dark, Blackwell believes a good story can bring light.
